In association with Sense about Science, in May 2019 JIF will be sponsoring a workshop at John Innes Centre aimed at providing young scientists and researchers with the skills needed to make effective contributions to public debate on matters of contemporary scientific interest.

JIF has supported research by Mark Youles into the successful mating of iridescent members of the Apaturinae.

JIF has contributed £275,000 to the new nursery at NRP, opened by Peter Innes in April 2018. The nursery is operated by Chestnuts and provides 92 places for children from 3 months to 5 years. It is an important facility at NRP, the availability of which is helping to attract and retain scientists and other key staff at the Park.
